According to the Korean police, an incendiary who is over 60 years old is caught last tuesday by police. The criminal burned Namdaemoon, which is a Korean No.1 national treasure. the incendiary said that he had dissatisfaction against Korean government, so he planed on burning it since 2006. Also, he said that he choose Namdaemoon because it is easy to get there, and there is no one to protect it. The police found some of tools to commit arson in his house through his wife's confession. Namdaemoon is sort of essential of Korea that it has been over 600years.
After I read this article, I felt something like unpleasant. How could it happen? The first Korean national treasure can destroied by one person who is an old guy, moreover, the government left it unsafely. Maybe it was just arson but Korean be burned their heart by one homeless old guy. The motive of arson is just dissatisfation of Korean government. In my opinion,however,people who are one member of a country have to have resposibilities about what is important and right thing in own country and society.
